Being Productive in busy season || Charlottesville and Lynchburg Wedding Photographer

It's officially busy season here in Central Virginia and I love it! Every single weekend I'm doing what I absolutely love and getting to celebrate with amazing couples! But, along with busy season means having A LOT more things to do, but less time to do it! Even when I'm shooting multiple weddings in a weekend, family sessions on the weekdays, I still want to maintain my client experience and produce images as soon as possible! 

The number one adjustment I've made this year to ensure that items on my to-do list are getting done, is scheduling an "Office Day" for myself.  And yes, I actually write it in my planner, and then put in my tasks in a block scheduling format on my iCalendar.  I refuse to do ANYTHING else on my Office Day other than be in my office. I won't volunteer in Emmie's classroom, meet anyone for lunch, schedule client meetings, or photo sessions on this day.  It is a day that I fully dedicate to tackling my workflow for the day.  If I have a double-header weekend where I'm shooting two weddings, I will make sure to block of, you guessed it, two office days.  

It's a simple solution that has helped me make huge strides in tackling my to-do list and staying productive during my busiest season! What simple changes have you made that have shown huge improvement?

Wintergreen Resort Wedding || Central Virginia Wedding Photographer

You guys. There's the most amazing piece of heaven just about an hour from Lynchburg out at the Wintergreen Resort! Driving up the mountain, there's the perfect space for a ceremony at the Devils Knob overlook. Talk about a view!!! 

Anthony & Ryan are one of those couples that automatically makes each other smile, laugh, and have a blast.  Easiest clients ever! Anthony & Ryan have been friends since they met, as students at Virginia Tech. These die-hard hokies were so excited and surprised to find out that her Mom secretly planned for the VT Hokie bird to make an appearance at their wedding! Everyone at the reception was so excited and had a blast dancing around with him through the night!

Charlie & Emily Engagement: Lynchburg, VA Wedding and Portrait Photographer

Ugh is anyone else just going absolutely crazy with all this rain?! I mean, don't get me wrong, there's nothing like a good, lazy day snuggling under your warm comfy blankets, drinking coffee and catching up on The Bachelor all day long!! But, let's face it... when you're an adult, it's pretty rare that you get to have days like that. And when you have a 4 year old that will only entertain herself for so long before she wants something to eat, days like that pretty much never happen! haha! 

The Lynchburg weather is always crazy this time of year, 60 degrees one day, snowing the next.  The first time we tried to get together for Charlie & Emily's engagement photos, we got snowed out. Then it snowed the beginning of this week, but everything warmed up a bit and luckily it was a beautiful day... just a little soggy & muddy out.  

These two are complete naturals in front of the camera. They are SO adorable- I would direct them into a general pose and they would snuggle up, and I wouldn't have to tell them to do anything differently, they just would! I love when couples are so happy, they radiate and can laugh with each other and you can tell by being around these two for any amount of time that they are so in love! They are getting married in March and I cannot wait!!!

Winchester, VA Wedding Photographer: Tim & Mia's Museum of the Shenandoah Valley Wedding

Small, intimate weddings have a special place in my heart! I LOVE walking away from a wedding day feeling like part of the family, and these small weddings make me feel like I've totally grown my extended family! 

Tim & Mia had such a beautiful wedding day at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, Virginia! This place is BEAUTIFUL and there was an amazing place for photos at every single corner!! It was a photographers heaven! I totally want to go back there for more shoots!! 

This couple is SO sweet and I just loved every moment with them! Mia was so calm and collected throughout the wedding day, probably my most calm bride yet! Tim was super laid back, and was so excited to see his bride walk down the aisle! Ahh! It was the sweetest!! 

They had their first dance as Bride & Groom together right after their ceremony- they talked and laughed through the entire thing- it was so sweet!

We then headed down to the Downtown Mall and met up with their adorable little puppy! Oh my goodness- the joy from this sweet little thing! <3 SOOOOOOOO  CUTE!!! 

Mia & Tim then had a nice & quiet dinner reception at a local restaurant downtown, where they cut their cake, enjoyed time with their family, and had a delicious dinner! 

Mia & Tim: Thank you guys SO SO SO much for including me in your special day! I had such a great time getting to know you guys, your family, and celebrate your big special day together! I loved being part of your day and it really was so sweet and special! You two are adorable! Hope you are LOVING married life so far!

The craziness that is October! Lynchburg, Virginia Wedding & Portrait Photographer

Phew guys- what an exhausting month it has been! Exhausting but oh my goodness so much fun! This month alone I have traveled to: Charleston- South Carolina,  The Wintergreen Resort in Virginia,  Hartford/Wethersfield in Connecticut, Forest/Bedford County in Virginia, Winchester, in Virginia, and back to Lynchburg.  

I have A TON of photos to share from all of my recent sessions, but I can't wait to share SOME of them while I'm editing more- so a few previews before I share their actual blog posts!
