Andrew & Jessica's Backyard Elopement in Covington, VA

I am SO excited to be sharing Andrew & Jessica’s wedding with you guys! This sweet couple has had so many ups and downs with planning everything! With COVID, they had to move their big wedding day celebration until June 2021, but they didn’t let that stop them from having a fun celebration with their families and closest friends.

I was so surprised to see how much planning they had put into this day! From selecting a totally different color and style of bridesmaids dresses, florals, cake- they truly thought of everything! They got ready in their beautiful home in Covington, Virginia, and then had a gorgeous ceremony overlooking a neighbors pond, and had a reception with burgers and hot dogs in their back yard!

Congratulations you guys! It was such a stunning day and I cannot wait to see you get married again next year! (and honestly- how many people can say that?! haha!)

Lynchburg, VA Elopement: Taylor & Kim || Central VA Wedding Photographer

I've been DYING to share this gorgeous elopement & am so so so excited to finally be sharing it today! Taylor & Kim had their family coming to visit them in Lynchburg for Thanksgiving and they decided to elope while everyone was here! I LOVE elopements because they are so personal and intimate! Just the couples very closest friends and family without the stress of planning a huge wedding! Taylor and Kim had both sides of their families there, and a couple of good friends, as well as her daughter. 

Their ceremony at Riverside Park in Lynchburg, Virginia was so sweet and special. They choose a tucked away part of the park that overlooks the James River. The leaves were still on the trees and the sun was coming though so perfectly.  It truly was a gorgeous day! Kim's daughter was an important part of the ceremony- she held the rings and Taylor gave her the sweetest necklace to symbolize them becoming a family. 

After their ceremony, the families headed to Bootleggers in downtown Lynchburg for a celebratory dinner. Taylor's parents decorated the bar tables and truly made it a special dinner for them!

2016 In Review : Thank YOU!!!

I've been sorting through all these photos from over the past year and I am seriously so blown away by the AMAZING couples I had the privilege to photograph in 2016.  This was my busiest year yet, I cut off my booking at 25 weddings, which was the best decision for the year.  My goal starting out 2016 was to be intentional with taking time off, spending time with my family, friendships, and being able to give my time 100% to my clients.  I have plans to go through my 2016 goals and what that looks like for my 2017 goals later this week.  

I was really blessed with a year of weddings very spread out! This is an industry that has natural booking cycles of spring and fall for weddings, so being able to shoot weddings through January, February, July, etc. was a huge blessing to be busy throughout the year and spread out my time away on the weekends.  

I loved finding 1-2 of my favorite images from the weddings I shot over the year! Each and every one of these couples has become friends with me and I am truly so blessed and have learned so much from each of them! We shot at some amazing venues this year- new ones, like Pharsalia and Keswick Vineyards in Charlottesville, Virginia

At the risk of sounding cheesy, I just wanted to thank each and everyone of these couples and their families.  It is always such an honor to be to be chosen to document the biggest most exciting day of your life- to be giving you the photos that you and your future generations will look at and enjoy for years and years down the road.  I love being a part of your wedding day, getting to know your families, and becoming friends with each and every one of you! Thank you so much for trusting me and supporting me and my family and my dreams!

Weekend Update || Smith Mountain Lake elopement & Charlottesville engagement session

Oh what a beautiful weekend! I cannot believe it's NOVEMBER and it's still warm enough to wear short sleeves and flip flops- and the leaves are just now hitting peak season! It's so amazing- can every year be like this? I know that the freezing cold is coming oh so soon, so I'm going to take advantage of this glorious sunshine for as long as possible!! 

This weekend was absolutely stunning.  The sunshine, the leaves, the sweet people!! I just loved every minute of it! 

It was such an honor to take some photos of Heidi Baker, the owner of The Trivium Estate in Forest, Virginia.  She is so gorgeous and we had so much fun catching up after a very busy wedding season! 

On Friday, I got to be a part of a super special elopement out at Smith Mountain Lake.  I cannot wait to share more from this special day!! 

Sunday, I met up with Andrew & Melissa out at the Ashlawn-Highlands in Charlottesville, Virginia. Goodness it is GORGEOUS there! I loved getting to know this couple and I am so excited for their Keswick Vineyards wedding next fall!

Mark & Amber Smith Mountain Lake Elopement

Neither rain nor shine could hold this adorable couple down!! Mark & Amber choose to have a small, intimate elopement ceremony, with both sets of parents there, overlooking the gorgeous Smith Mountain Lake at the Mariner's Landing.  It really was the perfect setting! It started raining just as the ceremony started, but what a romantic setting it was! 

After the ceremony, we headed out to the docks for some photos when it started POURING! This couple was in such great spirits though and we got some amazing photos despite the rain and wind!! But, don't worry- the sun came out shortly after and we were able to get some amazing photos in the sunshine too!
