Eeeeeeek! Mike & Emilee are just SO cute together and I am so excited for them! I worked with Emilee at LU and got to know her and bond over our shared love of all things coffffffeeeee, and even the Whole30! We had so many conversations about avocados and sweet potatoes! ;) 

I am so excited to share some photos from Mike & Emilee's Save the Date Session the other night! They are going to be getting married in January, and want to do their engagement photos in the Fall with the beautiful Virginia Fall scenery, but wanted to be able to send out some Save the Date Cards to their friends and family, so we got together for a quick mini-session and had the best time!

Bedford, Virginia Wedding Photographer: John & Loran's Wedding Day

I love weddings where the joy of the day just radiates throughout the entire event! Everyone from family members and guests to the officiant to the vendors! John & Loran's wedding day was exactly that! Everyone was SO excited for them, their own happiness was felt by everyone! 

John & Loran got married at The Historic Avenel in Bedford, Virginia. Bedford is just a short drive from the Lynchburg, Virginia area, and has some amazing wedding venues, including the beautiful Avenel! This historical home has some amazing significance to  the groom, and it was so awesome to take photos in and around the bushes he grew up playing hide and seek in! 

John & Loran have 2 little boys and they truly make the most adorable family!! I mean- look at these beautiful boys!!! <3 

LORAN!!!! You are such a stunning bride!!! I agree with you that you HAVE to wear this dress every single day of your life!!!

Greensboro, NC Wedding Photographer: Jared & Tyler Gail

Sometimes, this job has the craziest outcomes... like you get hired to second shoot for a wedding in Greensboro, North Carolina- 2 hours from home- and show up to find out the groom is the little brother of some of your best friends from high school! 

I had such a great time second shooting for  SMM Photography, based out of Charleston, SC  for Jared & Tyler Gail's Wedding Day! They had such a beautiful, southern, and classy ceremony at the First Baptist Church of Greensboro! Their reception was at a beautiful barn venue called the Steele Crest, just outside of Greensboro! I loved this relaxed venue! 

Working with Stefanie was so much fun- so glad I was able to make the short trip and travel down for this stunning wedding!!

Planning Your Wedding: Building your Timeline

I'm back with Part II of my Planning your Wedding to talk about Building your Timeline! This time, to chat about the timeline WITHOUT a first look! (You can read all about creating a timeline with a first look here!) 

I love helping my brides create a timeline that will flow with their special day, without causing extra stress or forgetting something really important! I always meet with my brides a few times before their wedding day and we build a timeline over the course of their engagement through to their wedding day! It is so important to me that my brides & grooms ENJOY their big day and don't feel stressed out or rushed at all! 

Like I mentioned in the last post, it is important to start planning your timeline by looking over the non-negotiable moments, such as when you are allowed to arrive at your venue, what time your ceremony is planned for, and what time you and all of your guests have to be out of the venue.  

Without doing a first look, I will typically try to get photos of the bride individually, her and her bridesmaids, and a few of the bride with her immediate family members- like siblings, and parents, etc.  I will also do this with the groom- anything that we can get before the ceremony, will help us save time! 

If we know these general guidelines, we write this out: 

1:00 Arrive at venue

4:00 Ceremony Begins

4:30 Ceremony Ends/ Cocktail Hour Begins

10:00 Send-off 

Then we add the remaining details! I always build in about 20-30 minutes for touch-ups, water, and so their early guests don't see them.  

2:00 Arrive at venue / Getting Ready Photos / Details, etc. 

4:00 Ceremony Begins

4:30 Extended Formal Photos

5:00 Entire Bridal Party Photos 

5:30 Bride & Groom Photos 

6:00 Reception Begins 

8:15 Bride & Groom Sunset Photos 

10:00 Send-off

I saw an ad today for 'back-to-school' and wanted to cry! we cannot be in the last week of july yet?! please tell me our summer isn't almost over?! While I do love a good cozy blanket, a cup of hot coffee, and amazing soups for dinner every night, I am really loving this summer and not wanting it to be over! 

Plus, I am LOVING all these fun couples that this summer is bringing!! John & Loran are getting married in a few short weeks, and we had so much fun getting to know each other and chat all about their wedding day!
