Lynchburg, Virginia Photographer: catching up on family photos

I am always so behind on posting my personal photos. Editing those is always the lowest priority for me, and these things always get pushed to the back burner. Now that my 2014 wedding season has wrapped up I am plugging through on those photos. 

Emmie got to go on some amazing field trips with school this year (the pumpkin patch, an apple orchard, etc). I missed out on these trips this year, so we made up for it by hitting up a few of those spots on the weekends.  One beautiful Saturday afternoon we headed out to the Gross' Apple Orchard Festival... and then realized once we were there we forgot to grab cash! Oops! We weren't able to enjoy all of the food local vendors had there, but we still had a blast walking around and hanging out together! 

We took a few family photos on our phones and Emmie insisted that she take some photos of me and Michael! So cute! She even got a few good ones! ;)

This freezing cold weather means this is our slow season here in Virginia.  Not that there still isn't a million things to do on the business-side of things, but this does mean that I am finally getting through my summer sessions from before I switched over to my new website! 

I had so much fun when Heather drove up to Lynchburg, Virginia so we could get some updated head shots.  Heather is an actress and has been in all sorts of amazing commercials! (Check out her work!) Even better- her and Mike grew up together and she was even in our wedding! We love when she gets to come  visit and always have so much fun with her! I especially love hearing all the embarrassing stories about Michael from when they were little...  HA 

I'm so excited to be able to share some of her head shots with you guys! We had multiple outfit changes as we walked all around the Old City Cemetery (I know, strangest place to tell clients we are going to take photos... but seriously it's SO BEAUTIFUL there!!)

Okay y'all... Confessions of a Momma who works full-time and owns her photography business... I still have to SHOP for some Christmas presents, much less hand them out! SO thankful for my amazing family and friends who have had patience with me this season- even if that does mean we have to extend the season a little longer than normal! HA.

So, there are quite a few things that have fallen off of my radar this year- and buying birthday cards and presents is one of them! Sorry friends! Today is my own Momma's birthday (Emmie calls her JiJi) and you guessed it, her card isn't even in the mail yet! But I HAD to share some of our awesome memories with our sweet JiJi!

Elyse & Jonathan: Downtown Winchester, VA Engagement Photographer

Jonathan & Elyse are getting married at the First Baptist Church in downtown Winchester and are going to have their reception at the beautiful George Washington Hotel in May.  I first met Elyse at her brother's wedding (remember the beautiful Missy?!) I know this is going to sound ridiculous, but I remember loving Elyse's gorgeous long hair! She has this way of mastering the perfect natural wave- something I am so jealous of! I was so excited she called me earlier this year for her wedding- I love working with brides and feel so honored to get referrals from my previous clients! 

I fell in LOVE with downtown Winchester when Michael & I headed out to shoot Elyse & Jonathan's engagement session. It was so adorable- even in the middle of winter- with the freezing temps! There were SO many places to stop for adorable pictures! And can I just tell you how much of a trooper Elyse is? It was freeeeeezing out- and she rocked her dresses! Can't even tell she's cold! My hero! We walked down the mall to the church where they will be getting married- it's beeeeautiful by the way! SO excited! And enjoyed Thai dinner and chatting all about their upcoming wedding day! Enough talk... enjoy their beautiful engagement session photos!
