deck the halls...

This is going to sound cliche' but I am so excited for Christmas this year with Emmie. She is totally starting to understand the whole Christmas thing! Decorating the tree this year was no exception. Although nothing can beat the Christmas Tree reveal from last year - going through all of the ornaments with her this year- making cookies, and handing them on the tree- THE best!

You have to bake cookies to decorate your Christmas tree... duh!

Some of our special ornaments! On the left- Emmie's very first ornament, Starbucks Mug- where Mike and I first met. The Sunset Beach Vacation Chair- and on the right- the ornament Mike proposed to me with!!

She was first told she had to wait until we were done with the tree to eat a cookie... but she couldn't wait!

The finished product... well kinda- we adjusted quite a few ornaments since Emmie made it her mission to put all the ornaments together on three branches! ha.

Now to catch up with our christmas gift list! yikes.  Have any special ornaments? I want to hear about them!!

Check out my post on picking out our tree out here- and be sure to check back this week for more Christmas Season Photos!

it's beginning to look a lot like chrismas...

I have SO many photos from this Christmas season that need to be shared! Phew- I'm finally all caught up on editing my sessions from this year and can start posting some of our family stuff! So you're in luck! We've got 5 days left until Christmas and I plan on sharing ALL sorts of photos of us getting into the Christmas Spirit this week!

To start us out of our week of Christmas photos, I've got our Christmas tree adventure! We headed out one evening after getting our family photos done (sharing soon!!) to go pick out the perfect tree! We of course stopped for some hot chocolate (or hot and chocolate as Emmie likes to call it! ha) and then drove out to the tree lot. Emmie and Michael loved it so much and looked over each and every tree what seemed like a million times before finally deciding on one.

Do you have any tree traditions? Are you a go cut down your own tree, get it pre-cut from a lot, or set up a fake tree each year?  Be sure to check back tomorrow for our decorating day!

have yourself a merry little christmas...

We are busily getting our house together for the Christmas season. One of my absolute favorite things about this time of year is Christmas cards.  Crazy, I know.. but I love getting something in the mail other than bills and advertisements- especially from our awesome friends and family!

If you are interested in getting a Christmas card from us this year, be sure to fill out this page (or click on the photo below) with your information!

Central VA Senior Photographer: Amanda: Smith Mountain Lake

Popping in real quick on this Tuesday morning to share some images of this beautiful girl! Amanda is the sweetest girl from Brookville High School in Lynchburg, Virginia! We headed out to Smith Mountain Lake, her home away from home, for her senior portraits.  I love that she wanted to get photos at the place she loves and waited until the Fall to get the amazing colors in as well! I am so in love with every single image- I had the hardest time even choosing which ones to share first!! Be sure to stop back in soon to see the rest of her session!

Lynchburg, VA Family Photographer: Klinger Family Photos

LynchburgVirginiaFamilyPhotographer

Happy November! :)

While I do LOVE summer, mostly because I hate being cold, this is my favorite time of the year.  Starting the Christmas shopping and decorating, Thanksgiving, boots, the coffee (haha of course!) and the beautiful trees! Just the best backgrounds ever! The Klinger family wanted to get some updated family photos in their new town (yay Lynchburg!) with the fall trees and some country/barn feel! We found the perfect country setting for their beautiful family session!

The Klingers were such troopers today! It was so so so cold, but these kids were AWESOME! We may or may not have bribed them with Halloween candy, and told them "this is the very last picture!" about 10 (or more) times! ha!
