My littlest assistant

Great news! I've hired a new assistant- and she doesn't charge much! Just the never-ending supply of orange-juice, dresses, boo-boo kisses, and if it was up to her, ice cream! ;) Yes, you've guessed it- Emmie! This little cutie was SO excited that her & daddy got to come to a wedding I photographed! (View Tim & Ashley's wedding day here!) 

I also brought along one of my older cameras, and let Emmie take a few photos of the wedding day! As you can tell, she was THRILLED to be helping! 

I was a little nervous that she was going to get in my way, but she really did amazing! It helped that Michael, and other family and friends fed her, played with her, and danced with her! 

And of course, I got in some of the action!

Nate & Chloe: Lynchburg, Virginia Family Session

These two cuties hold such a special place in my heart! I babysat Nate from the time he was 12 weeks old.. .and here he is 2.5! No matter how many times I tell them to stop growing up, they just keep getting bigger! I can't believe Chloe is over 6 months old now! But it's so fun and rewarding to have your kids and their friends growing up to these fun and energetic little people with oh so much personality! ;) 

Hard to believe that the weather here was nice enough for short sleeves just a few weeks ago! Now there's snow on the ground and temps have been hitting record lows. Oh Virginia!! But, I'll take the warm days- they help keep me sane until Spring comes for good! 

And since Emmie came along with me on this fun little shoot... I of course had to get a shot of these sweet friends! 

And.. I have to share this one! This entire shoot wasn't all smiles and giggles! Working with kids takes patience! :) 

I'm so ready for Spring and Sunshine now! Melt snow MELT!! 

Our Family: a Lynchburg, Virginia Snow Day!

Emmie has been praying "deep, deep snow and a blizzard" since Halloween. Every evening we lay her down and take turns praying, but her prayers have been the same.  So when we got our first big snow this year, we were all pretty excited for her! (and for the time off of work!) 

Alina Thomas Photography, another local Lynchburg, VA photographer and sweet friend volunteered to swap some fun snow day photos of our families! You can view the photos I took of her adorable family here! And I'm so excited to share these beautiful images she took of our family! 

I am so in love with these photos and so thankful for Alina volunteering to do these for us!! 

Lynchburg VA Photographer: a baking day with Emmie (personal)

Emmie is in that stage where she loves to "help" or even better, "do it all my myself." She was so thrilled the afternoon JiJi asked her to help her bake an apple pie.  She poured and stirred like a pro- and even better taste tested every few seconds.  Enough that we needed to add an extra apple into the mix. ;)

2014 recap! Our amazing clients! {lynchburg, virginia wedding and portrait photographer}

This post has taken me forever to write! I mean, most people post about the best of 2014 the beginning on the new year... NOT the end of January! I had the hardest time picking out my favorites. I have really met some amazing people and am so honored to have been a big part of their lives- adoptions, newborns, families, engagements, weddings, senior portraits, just so so much! I've truly blessed and it truly makes me so excited for 2015!
